Huw- Do you have any comment on Google releasing their Dart programming language? The reason I think you might take interest in it is that it has the features of Actionscript of full class object orientation, yet it can be translated into Javascript. It also adds the option of static typing. I think this could be a unifying language between Javascript and Actionscript.

I don’t know enough about Dart to give an informed opinion. In principle it sounds a good idea but it may depend on whether a) it is really a huge advance over JavaScript and b) whether enough web developers are going to be prepared to embrace a new language.
