It’s now been six months since
Bitwise first saw the light of day. Our first issue went
online on the 1st of June this year. To be honest, I
wasn’t sure at that time if anyone would be interested.
Maybe we’d just sit here languishing in a forgotten
corner of the Internet.
Well, I’m pleased to say that didn’t happen.
We are now getting well over a thousand visitors daily
and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. However,
that’s just the start. In the coming year, we’ll
be expanding Bitwise quite a bit. We’ll have new
features and new writers; and we’ll be covering
a variety of new topics. These will include several in-depth
programming projects, discussions of emerging technologies
- and a few things that have nothing to do with
computers at all.
My aim with Bitwise was to create an online magazine
that would be of interest to technically literate users.
That doesn’t mean that every single article has
to be about computers. After all, technically literate
users have other interests too!
While we already have several projects in the pipeline,
I would love to receive ideas from our readers. Maybe
you could write a Letter
To The Editor, suggesting possible
topics which we might cover ? (If you’d prefer
not to have your letter published, just say so when you
contact us). Or maybe there is some specialist area that
you could write about? Check our writers’ guidelines,
then drop me a line.
If you’ve enjoyed Bitwise, please let your friends
and colleagues know about us. I’d like to think
that we can continue to grow for many years to come.
But ultimately our success depends on our readers.
Here’s wishing you all the best over the Christmas
Season and throughout the New Year.
